Support for children’s hospice work

1090 Euro raffle proceeds for the outpatient children’s hospice service in Osnabrück.

“The team from the Schuchmann company have been supporting the work of our service for several years now, and we are very grateful for that,” explains Anja Hanke, public relations coordinator for the Osnabrück Hospice.

No savings on lottery tickets

The large sum of money was raised, among other things, through a raffle before Christmas. On the very first day of the raffle, there was a real rush. Some of our team bought several tickets at once and topped up the amount with further donations.

Part of the donation goes towards the
qualification of voluntary children’s hospice support as well as individual grants for the families who are supported by the “Outpatient Children’s Hospice Service”. For example, additional funding for the purchase of special aids and toys. The volunteer companions regularly visit families of children with lift limiting conditions and support them in everyday situations. They also help to give the parents some “free time” by taking the children and their siblings on outings and trips. The companions are also trained in bereavement support and can support the families through difficult times.

New project planned

Due to an increase in demand the Osnabrücker Hospice is planning to expand its premises. During the construction there are plans for a new area for meetings, creative activities, joint activities etc. and which will be available to all companions, families, guests and volunteers. “We are therefore very happy to receive support for this project,” adds Anja Hanke.
