… Erni Schuchmann

Our team has many different faces who sit in front of their PCs every day for our products, stand at their workbenches and travel many kilometres by car to be on site with you. To give you an idea of who is behind our products, we introduce you to a new member of the Schuchmann team every month under the motto “Three questions for”.

Today we introduce you to Erni Schuchmann, the founder of Schuchmann.

Erni Schuchmann co-founded the company in 1983. The company was founded out of the desire to make life easier for her daughter, who herself had multiple severe disabilities.

1. What was the first product developed?

The first product was a standing trainer that we developed together as the Gehrmeyer-Schuchmann company. Our therapy chair madita. developed during that time was also one of the first products and was introduced as a seating system. The joint development with the occupational therapist couple Gabi and Heinz Gehrmeyer took place at that time out of the desire to make it easier for those affected to participate in everyday life.

2. What is the most beautiful thing about Schuchmann?

The nicest thing is that we are a family business. I am grateful that Miriam and Torsten continue to run the business on their own initiative.

3. How do you like to spend your time?

I like to spend a lot of time with my grandchildren. I have also remained loyal to the healthcare sector and work for Prequalification in Healthcare.
